Youth for Unity
Youth for Unity, a diversity education program designed to combat prejudice, bigotry and discrimination. Youth for Unity is the umbrella title for a comprehensive set of programmatic interventions that will allow Clubs to help members appreciate and understand our society’s diversity, recognize unfairness and take personal leadership in confronting bias.

Grades: 6, 7 & 8th graders only
Starts: September 24 Ends: March 30 Mondays, 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Tween Money Managers : Make it Count
Money Managers will work as a team to create projects aimed at raising money,
learn about budgeting, open bank accounts and learn and play a stock
marker game weekly. Exciting trip will be conducted.

Grades: 6, 7 & 8th graders only
Starts: September 25 Ends: December 13 Tuesdays, 5:00- 6:00 p.m.

Torch Club
A leadership development and community service program for teens grades 6-8. It provides a unique opportunity for pre teens to serve as leaders, elect officers within the Club, choose their own activities and plan and implement community service and Club projects. Torch members will be mentored by the Diverse Unity Keystone Club, create their own T-shirt, dog tag, go on trips and more.

Grades: 6, 7 & 8th graders only
Year-round, starting September 26, Wednesdays, 5:00- 6:00 p.m.

Tween SMART Girls
A Club just for Tween Girls! The program focuses on issues specific to female Club
members and is designed to encourage healthy attitudes and lifestyles that will enable those members to develop to their full potential. From interactive role playing to more tailored mentoring, girls are given the opportunity to explore personal and societal values as they build skills for eating right, staying fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships. The tween girls will always be assisting in planning the 2008 Fashion Show, have spa parties, create jewelry and much more.

Grades: 6, 7 & 8th graders only
Starts: September 27 Ends: March 28
after the Fashion Show
Thursdays, 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Friday Triple Play Challenges
The goal of the Triple Play program is to improve Club members’ knowledge of healthy habits; increase the number of hours per day they participate in physical activities; and strengthen their ability to interact positively with others and engage in positive relationships. Components include: Daily Pool, Table Tennis, Strength, Board Games, Video Games , Sports, Thinking, Writing, Cartoon making challenges and more!

Grades: 6, 7 & 8th graders only
Fridays, 5:00- 7:00 p.m., Year-round, starts September 20

Tween Start SMART
This nationally acclaimed comprehensive prevention program helps young people
resist alcohol, tobacco and other drug use as well as building self esteem. SMART
Moves features engaging, interactive, small-group activities that will enhance
social skills, while building and strengthening their leadership skills.

Grades: 6-8
Thursdays, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Junior Tweens Leaders
Junior Leaders is a small-group program that assists Club members grades 6-8
in exploring a career in youth or human services, particularly Boys & Girls Club work.
Through hands-on experiences with helping others in the Club and community, field trips to other service organizations and one-on-one guidance from Club staff, youth prepare for a future role as a human services professional or volunteer leader in their community.

Grades: 6-8
Year-round, Meeting: Fridays, 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Volunteer Opportunities:Monday-Thursday, 3:00-6:00 p.m.
