NATIONAL FINE ARTS COMPETITION

               "Jelly Beans" by Jenny Shin

Jenny Shin, age 13, is one of thirty-seven Boys & Girls Club artists whose work had been chosen to appear in the 2011 National Fine Arts Exhibit.  Selected from more than 252 finalists vying for top honors at this year's national competition, "Jelly Beans" won for Jenny's age group in the Multicolored Drawing category, and will travel with the National Fine Arts Exhibit on a nationwide tour.  In recognition of her achievement, winning artists will receive a plaque and congratulatory letter from Roxanne Spillett, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Fine Arts Program is a comprehensive initiative promoting creativity in a variety of media as well encouraging artistic skills and cultural enrichment.  As a participant in the Fine Arts program, Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club submitted artwork from four age divisions and 10 categories, such as watercolors, pastels, collage and sculpture.  The national judging was held recently in Atlanta, Georgia.
