Power Hour-Making Minutes Count
Sharpen your pencils and get ready for Power Hour! This homework help program provides members with space, time and assistance to complete their assignments. Making minutes Count helps club members ages 6-12 be more successful school and encouraging members to become self-directed learners. Members’ participation is tracked for recognition our incentives program.

Grades: 1-6
Session 1: 3:00-4:30 p.m., Session 2: 4:30-6:00 p.m.

Study Hour
Club Members can use the quiet Learning Center to do complete homework assignment and study for tests and quizzes. Assistance from our friendly, caring staff is available!

Garden Club
Through a partnership with the Locust Valley Garden Club, members will learn about plants, animals, season, and gardening through hands-on experiences with knowledgeable and caring adults. Members will participate in interactive and fun activities, projects, and trips.

Spanish Club
Hola! Spanish Club will give members a solid introduction to the Spanish Language in the most interesting way. Members will learn basic Spanish language vocabulary and phrases through fun and interactive activities. Todos son bienvenidos!

KidzLit
KidzLit is a literature program that helps young people become better, more motivated readers. Using compelling, carefully selected books, young people enhance their reading competency and engage in discussions about the values and ethics embedded in the books. Every week, you can listen to a new story unfold right before your eyes! Members are invited to bring in their favorite book so that we can share it with others!

SMART Kids
This nationally acclaimed comprehensive prevention program helps young people resist alcohol, tobacco and other drug use as well as building self esteem. SMART Moves features engaging, interactive, small-group activities that will enhance social skills, while building and strengthening their leadership skills.

Kids in Control- Safety Awareness Program
“Kids in Control,” Safety Awareness Program, is designed to help children acquire effective personal safety skills. “Kids in Control” teaches children how to stay safe in their neighbor and streets, among their peers for helping children develop safety skills that will support their healthy, positive growth.

KidzMath
Together the KidzMath program and Citigroup Money Know-How with Oscar the Owl offers children extra practice with the important skills needed to become confident math learners. Students develop mathematically and socially while having fun with cooperative math games and literature-based activities. This program will offer a trip to a local bank.

SMART Girls
SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and selfesteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls. Through dynamic sessions, activities, and field trips, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
